This page is devoted to taking notes from Video 11- 16 and carrying out the instructions contained in the video. Video 11 arrived 9th Jan 08 This video is about using Google Analytics to provide useful tracking data. It is rather intricate and suffers from stopping and starting frequently and the final part seems to be made up of a red screen with odd glimpses of a cursor moving hither and thither rapidly. I’ll do my best at interpreting this video. Open Google.com/analytics, aWeber.com, Komposer or My Free Web Site Builder, SmartFTP or AceFTP. On Google Analytics go to bottom of page, click on “Add Website Profile” and add your domain name on next page. Then click on “Continue” On next page go down to find the tracking code, copy it and paste it into a text folder in the website folder you created at the beginning of the course. Mine is on the desktop called “Jason Dinner” I created a text document in that folder called “Analytics Code” Next we are going to put code on the squeeze page. So open up Komposer or MFWSB. Now go to Google Analytics and create a goal. Under Settings click on edit and on next page put in the URL or just the test/squeezepage2,html . Put squeezepage2 in box below. Go down to bottom of page and click on “Save Changes” We have to set up goals now. Across from G1 click on edit and on next page fill in Goal URL and Goal name ie /download.html and download page. Go down to bottom and click on Save Changes. Do the same for thankyou.html Now we are going to emend our squeeze page by adding a tracking tag for each safelist we shall be using. In other words we shall have a squeeze page specific to the safelist. We shall go to aweber and copy the form a number of times and alter the code slightly to match the requirements of each safelist we shall be targeting. In aWeber go to List Settings > Web Form. Click on Create Web Form and do this every time. On next page in Form Name indicate safelist you are targeting eg indexbwl or just bwl for Business World List. In Ad Tracking field put bwl, click on Next. Scroll down next page, click on save. Now go to get HTML on Managing List page and copy the form_id value code number eg 276767 or whatever the number is and then....... Now go to your web editor, open squeeze page. Go to source, change the id value code number to the one you saved previously and change the meta_ad tracking value to “bwl” etc. Then save the page as indexbwl Repeat this process for every new squeeze page you create. indexherc, indexcbl etc. You need to upload each new squeeze page to where you uploaded your first squeeze page.In my case ,into www.donalddriscoll.com/test/ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++ Video 12 arrived 16th Jan 08 This video is mostly about sending out your advert to your list of safelists. Each of these is slightly different, so you need to go to each one in turn and work out what needs to be done to send out your ad, how often you can send out an ad, what it costs to upgrade, what the benefits are of upgrading and how to get more credits if you need them. A good idea is to create a folder within your website folder containing a list of the urls you will need for the safelists eg www.donalddriscoll.com/test/indexherc.html
You will be able to do a list like this when you have created a list based on the abbreviations you choose for each safelist. It would also be a good idea to create a folder in Firefox containing the urls for each safelist, so that you could open them as tags across the page. And then you could have a text document with your message for each safelist all set out with subject line ready to paste into the safelist ad block. It will take a little time to learn what you need to know about each safelist and whether it is worthwhile upgrading +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++ Video 13 arrived 23 Jan 08 Video 13 covers two more ways you can advertise your squeeze page. The first is by using Traffic Swarm as your browser start page. Just go to www.trafficswarm.com , click on “Join”.Once you log in you will see on the Member Page a link to set up your start page. Just click on that link. Then follow the instructions to set your start page to Trafficswarm on Internet Explorer. For Firefox click on Tools > Options and follow the instructions. You get credits whenever you open your browser or go to a new site. You are entitled to have 10 ads in the system as a free member. What you can do is have the same ad a number of times with different subject lines, in order to discover which ad works best. You should also have a special link to your squeeze page ie The second traffic generator is InstantBuzz.com You need to install their toolbar on your browser, either Internet Explorer of Firefox. You can create a one line ad and every time you browse to a new page or site you earn credits which are used to allow your ad to be displayed on other Instant Buzz user sites. To get the best out of InstantBuzz you need to spend some time on the site. There’s quite a learning curve involved. For our purpose just install the toolbar and set up your ad. Personally I don’t expect too much from using this toolbar. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++= Video 14 arrived 30th Jan 08 This video has poor sound quality with what sounds like a Martian talking in the background and at times the sound mutes itself. The essence of the video is the need to use certain viral list building programs in order to receive traffic to your squeeze page. Much is made of the benefits of upgrading in all the programs, especially when you join up as there is usually a one-time offer that will be the cheapest option. We were shown how to place ads in a couple of these viral programs and urged to join them all and send off our ads. Here are the programs... ViralURL.com Cloak your URLs and stop commission theft. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++ Video 15 I’m told that there are two or three more videos and then the course is over, to be followed by coaching on a one to one basis. Sound quality is poor on the video and it stops and starts tediously. This video starts by again looking at ViralUrl.com and using it to cloak and shorten all the different squeeze page URLs that we created The purpose behind this procedure seems to be the opportunity for you to get subscribers to your ViralUrl.com affiliate link, thereby gaining credits to use when advertising via ViralURL.com The more ViralUrl.com links you use, the more likelihood that people will click on your link in the ViralUrl toolbar that displays at the top of any page that is opened when using a cloaked ViralUrl link. The second program to use on this video is www.imgiveaway.com This opens on 22nd February 2008 and you will be able to sign up and submit as your giveaway the product that people receive when they fill in the form on any of your squeeze pages. To join as a member you can use this link. http://viralurl.com/northgate/giveaway To join as a JV Member use this link. http://viralurl.com/northgate/jvgiveaway ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++ |
